Description:
"THE NEW MASS ART AND LITERATURE in the Philippines today are part and parcel of the national democratic revolution being waged by the Filipino people against US imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism. They primarily serve the interests of the basic masses of workers and peasants, Red fighters and lower petty bourgeoisie, as well as their allies in the struggle for national liberation and democracy. As cultural weapon, they aim at advancing the armed struggle and agrarian revolution in the countryside, the urban strike movement, and the national united front founded on the basic alliance of the worker and peasant classes, the most numerous segment of the population and the most oppressed in a semicolonial and semifeudal society such as the Philippines."
